How to read this: one row per route & cabin, showing the best fare we've ever recorded there — what it cost, in which program and cabin, and when. A green observed badge means the latest dated sampled feed contains that same cabin & program within 10% of the record; otherwise the row shows when it was last seen.
What “outlier” means. A fare that’s unusually good for that specific route. We score each candidate with a composite of two things: rarity — how far below the route’s own recent price history this fare sits (not an absolute cutoff, so a $400 NYC→Tokyo and a $90 NYC→San Juan can both qualify) — and value — miles-value / cost efficiency for the cabin. The top tier (✦) is the rarest + best-value.
It’s a ledger, not five-new-a-day. Every standout we flag is recorded here permanently with its appearance count and price history. A great fare from last week doesn’t vanish — it stays on the board (showing its best-ever appearance) as the record of what a route can hit. The home globe shows dated observations from the latest accepted feed; this page is the full, accumulating record.
Availability moves. Award seats and cash fares can change after observation. A dated feed match is a lead to verify with the airline, not a reservation or exhaustive live check. A missing sampled row does not prove that no award exists.
How this will change. The scoring — the history window, how much rarity vs. value is weighted, the per-cabin baselines — is still being refined. We’ll keep this note current as it evolves, so the method stays in the open.
